Prizes to Dye For

Posted by Put a Sock in it on Wednesday, 31 October, 2007

It was touch and go for a while as to whether the post monster had munched it, but finally the prize I won in this contest made it to my mail box! It took over 4 weeks to get here from the US (the norm is a fortnight), and the bashed-up envelope looked as though it had been on quite an adventure.

I was over the moon, and Jeanne was jolly relieved, to say the least. The very notion of all these thoughtfully-chosen goodies going missing doesn’t bear thinking about. She must have been having kittens!

The star of the show is a skein of Jeanne’s striped hand-dyed yarn in lovely shades of blue. This will knit-up into a fab pair of socks for me. Yes, me! Hubby has a proclivity for homing in on the good stuff, but this one is strictly off limits.

Co-starring in the parcel were a card, a notebook, a butterfly tape measure (mine recently gave up the ghost, so this is a timely gift), and a cute sheepy. :)

Prizes

As if that weren’t all just the bees knees, there was even more!

That beauty, is none other than a skein of Blue Moon Fiber Arts medium-weight Socks that Rock in the Fairgrounds colourway. The colours are really punchy, and I love ‘em.

A huge thank-you to Jeanne for her generosity. She’s truly spoilt me with these gifts.

And the other thing that’s had me grinning from ear to ear is that after installing the latest update to my beloved browser, Omniweb, all the features in my Ravelry seem to be working perfectly. Woohoo! I just have to find the time to load the latest Mac operating system, Leopard, on my ‘puter, and I’ll be happy as a pig in muck! :D
